Water supply to be excellent
The water supply appears excellent everywhere during the month of August. When the inspection of Terri ling was made, there were streams of water pouring down the hill sides in every direction.
The village wells contained ample water within six feet of the surface. Sufficient water to raise five crops of rice per year is always available throughout the district.
It is probable that the high mountain ranges attract more rain clouds from the China Sea during the southwest monsoon than is the case at Hongkong, where the average rainfall is 80 inches.
We are normally of the opinion that in places, the construction of storage reservoirs, if required, will be a simple matter. Mr. ... consider that the construction of a reservoir on the southern or eastern slope of Jai-nin-Shan for the supply of Kowloon is very desirable.
